Being someone who is rather new to the vast realm of Digital Marketing, it’s important to be progressively learning about all of its different facets. I’ve taken a deep interest in reading blog posts on Moz, as well as watching YouTube videos by the outstanding team at Moz.
CEO and co-founder of Moz, Rand Fishkin, is an excellent teacher of all things SEO, inbound marketing, utilizing Google ads, etc. The guy is absolutely amazing at conveying his message in an understandable, engaging, and intelligent manner.
Moz does this awesome video series called “Whiteboard Friday” where they discuss and breakdown important marketing and SEO concepts and new perspectives. The content is then combined with graphical depictions and written concepts on the whiteboard for ease of visualization and comprehension.
I recently watched a great video on the #1 Reason Why Paid Ads on Search, Social, and Display Fail and I’ll be honest – I learned quite a bit from just this one episode.
One of the highlights in the video that resonated with me most is that companies should refrain from pouring money into ads until they are KNOWN to their target audience.
What good is to spend loads of money on a high-level advertising campaign when so many consumers are unfamiliar with your brand?
It’s completely understandable, as a consumer who’s never heard of your brand is more likely to not trust it. In turn, they’re more likely to not fulfill a call to action, such as clicking on the ad or purchasing.
That’s where the importance of earning organic traffic and boosting overall SEO health comes to play.
Rather than frittering away thousands of dollars on a campaign that may or may not flop, spend the beginning of your online presence becoming more aware to your audience.
Try hosting events, writing blog posts, posting fresh content on various social channels, and being active in your community. Taking these steps will surely help improve your organic traffic and overall presence.
Speaking of SEO, I will be releasing a post soon regarding On-Page SEO optimization and tips on enhancing its overall status!
Thanks for viewing this short update, I look forward to discussing more exciting content relating to digital marketing, SEO and more.
